Wanderer Foundational Members
Filed for Martin Gray, Gold King of the Wanderers
“Whither thou goest, I will go; thy people shall be my people.” — Ruth 116.

Introduction
The Foundational Members are the people the Wanderers needed most. Some of them were there at the truck stop on Highway 2 when the company was nothing. Others arrived months later, after the company already had a name and a roster. The Library files them together for one reason. Take any of these people out of the story, and the Wanderers do not make it, no matter when they joined.
Each of them did something the company could not have done without them. Dawn read every contract the Guild handed you and caught what the fine print was doing before it could cost you the company. Mishka bought the land the Wanderers sit on and staged the charter paperwork at two in the morning, before anyone who would vote against it woke up. Cordelia fought her captors so hard they could not ready her for sale, and the day you bought her free the company wrote its first bylaw no Wanderer stays in chains. None of them waited to be asked. They saw what the company needed and they were the ones who could give it.
These members still change what you do. When one of them takes a side, you take it with them, and the rest of the company follows. The Board reads them the same way and watches them closer than anyone else in your faction, because losing one of these people would cost the Wanderers more than losing a dozen others.
The entries in this section cover each Foundational Member in turn. The Library lists them ahead of the rest of the company because the work in every later section depends on what these people did. Read them as the members who mean the most to what the Wanderers became
[Hal] Some of them he met the first week. Some he met years in. He keeps all of them the same way, and they stay the same way.
[Tony] Take any one of these names off the roster and a job he barely walked away from becomes a job he doesn’t. He knows it. That is why they sit at the front of the book.
